4 times for the dark knight

1st time at regular theater: Went to see with my family. Made me dizzy, hyper, excited, in awe of the Joker all at once. I couldn't fall asleep until 3am in the morning. The last and only time I felt that way was the first time I saw Phantom (the musical! duh!) I couldn't fall asleep until 3am in the morning.

2nd time at iMax: "persuaded" my friend to see it with me : ) Very excited with the big screen *grins*

3rd time at regular theater: "convinced once again" another friend to see it with me.

4th time at iMax: Before I head back to college, I planned to see it again, for the first time alone. It was awesome; although one annoying flaw: an old man sitting two seats away from me wouldn't stop laughing at a lot of important moments throughout the movie. (ex. pencil scene, "hii" scene," Rachel's told me everything about you. I surely hope not" scene . . . etc ).
He sounded like he was watching it by himself and not in a public theater. Selfish, selfish man. *sighs*

Future: kinda want to see it again at iMax when I go back home ...

I now own 2 movie posters, 1 wall scroll poster, 1 t-shirt, 1 Dark Knight movie screen play hardcover. Want to buy the movie novel and the Joker figure

~ My opinion on the Deathly Hallows ~

I have been a big fan of Harry Potter ever since my mom recommended me to read my brother's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone copy. That of course was my favorite book as a kid.

I've been very happy with the first 3 movies, but extremely disappointed with the 4th and 5th one. I still can not get used to the current actor playing Dumbledore (because Richard Harris was the best). I also hate the fact that they don't show the adults/professors enough in the movies. Especially Professor Mcgonagall, Professor Snape, Bellatrix Lestrange, and much more. They are so brilliant but extremely underused.

One of my beloved characters- Albus Dumbledore was played by an actor who hasn't even touched one Harry Potter book. We can all agree that he portrayed a violent, silly, and even bizarre Dumbledore.

I remembered a line in Ootp, " Don't you have some studying to do?", when the whole school watched Professor Trelawney getting sacked from her job. That line had left me speechless.

That is why I always turn to the book and rarely pay attention to the movies. I thought the Deathly Hallows will be my favorite one of the series. But it wasn't ...

I thought the book was a disappointment. Sure she did a good job at the beginning, but quickly changed to frustrating and boring in the middle part (when the Trio was alone in the tent), and horrible at the end. Okay, I did like the final battle between Harry and Voldemort.

But I can not believe Snape's death and the stupid Epilogue. Also that she killed Dobby... I was crying like there's no tomorrow.

I first took an interest in Severus Snape during Half-Blood Prince. And now he is my favorite character in the series.

I am distraught when Rowling failed to realize Snape as a hero. According to the Interview,

JKR : "The deaths were all very, very considered. I don't even kill fiction characters lighty."

MV: Was Snape always intended to be a hero?

JKR: " Is he a hero? You see, I don't see him really as a hero".

MV: Really?

JKR: "But, yeah. He's spiteful . He's a bully. All these things are still true of Snape even at the end of this book. em, But was he brave? Yes immensely."

Snape not a HERO? Has she gone mad? I think Snape is defintely a hero. Sure, he dislikes Potter immensely, but how can he not! The father is his enemy and the mother is his lover. I completely understand Snape. He was continuously bullied by James and Sirius, and Snape hated them for all his life.

Even I, to this day, can not forgive the ones who bullied me in my childhood. The weird thing was that I know I will never see them again, ever in my life, yet they were in my dreams one in awhile. That was why I understand where Snape came from, why he became this way.

The Epilogue was simply a joke lol. It sounded like a poorly written fanfiction that no one bothered to read.

Professor Longbottom? Albus Severus Potter?

I can only hope that Rowling will write a book based on the life of Severus Snape, I think Snape's life is definitely more interesting than Harry's.

P.S. For the next two movies, I am praying there will be more Alan Rickman screen time. I'm sure he'll do a phantastic job!

Les Misérables on my 20th Birthday =)

I finally saw Les Misérables after it opened again for a limited run.

It was my second time seeing this wonderful musical. The first one was near the end run of the musical back in 2003. The first time was always my best time, because I was sitting 2nd row from the Orchestra and there was no audience disturbances like this time. it's soo annoying when there are annoying bitches around you when you are trying to enjoy a musical. This teenage boy is like keep on shaking his leg (move up and down) and stepped on my shoe ... and at the end .. he was stepping on my toe for seconds. I should've yelled at him, I'm too nice.

Also the cast was excellent. Not that this one is bad ... but I didn't get Lea Salonga!!!! *cries* I kept on imagining the underystudy to be Lea.. *sniffs* and Marius is not much of a looker lol and I've seen so many good looking Marius *smiles*. For ex, Hugh Panaro once played the role of Marius.

I will defintely see Les Misérables again since it won't be on Broadway for a steady run and I really want to catch Lea next time.

Alexander Gemignani as Valjean and Ben Davis as Javert both stood out to me. They're so good ^_^.

I'm not going to go scene by scene this time, I'll do actor by actor instead.

Jean Valjean- he's perfect =) He is so tall and stuff .... I especially love his "Bring Him Home".

Javert - He's young no? Pretty good looking. I would prefer Terrence Mann any minute, but he's great lol.

Cosette- She's not bad and I still want to know what kind of a last name is "Ewoldt"? She looks like asian too.

Fantine- understudy took over Lea *cries*. A black woman call Nikkie Renee Daniels took over and is just funny that her child Cosette is Asian.

Eponine - I hated her ... ugh .... she sucks .. she did not move me, not one bit in "on my own" and the scene where she's dying lol ... I saw Diana Kaarina my first time and she was 10x better than the current Eponine (Mandy Bruno).

Marius - dude ... why did they cast a (ugly/average) Marius? Marius has always been the main "hottie" in Les Misérables and I am stunned that they didn't cast someone that will make "ladies swoon". They should've cast Max Von Essen as Marius! I love Max in Dance of the Vampire!

Madame Thenardier - ahh i recognized Ann Harada from Ave Q and she's hilarious tonight. I love the Thenardier couple lmao. "Master of the House" is defintely the funniest scenes ever lmao.

Overall ... I kinda prefer the cast I saw first time lmao. Hot Marius, Terrence Mann, and Diana kaarina is adorable.

Let's hope I get to see it again and also on the West End when I go study abroad. *(My dream is that I'm not too late to see John Owen Jones as Valjean there* >.<) I am truly blessed that I appreciate musicals. A lot of the people find them boring.

The Phantom of the Opera's performance on May 14th

I am back ... with Phantom =). After a looong hiatus (two years), I haven't been in touch with the Phandom since I entered college two years ago.

The Bway Cast:

Gary Mauer --- ahhh he reminds me of Hugh Panaro, maybe because I missed Hugh so much. He is great but he doesn't do the "slick" during motn >.< I absolutely love the fact that he's married to another Christine Daaé - Elizabeth Southard.

Jennifer Hope Wills --- a new Christine. She is young and beautiful. Her vocal is not as strong as Lisa Vroman or Sandra Joseph, but that's fine.

Michael Shawn Lewis --- My first Raoul! It's nice to see him back on Broadway, but after recently found out that he is into men ... wait Howard McGillin is gay too. OMG.. a gay Phantom and gay Raoul, imagine them kissing on stage! Michael is so good looking, he is great at what he does. =)

Kris Koop --- filled in for Anne Runolfsson (Carlotta). I love her! I saw her as Christine Daaé on my 16th Birthday. My mom likes her too. She was great as Carlotta.

God.. I'm bad at this because I forgot how many times I've seen Phantom. I know it's definitely more than 10 times and I'm guessing 15 times? I saved all the tickets so I'll check later. I sat at seat A 5, Left Orchestra third row from the stage. My dream is to see the London cast and the Japan one when I go study abroad.

Prologue
I was crying with tears when "Overture" was playing the same time when the gorgeous chandelier was elevating. I became totally emotional that I kept on wiping off my tears. It's defintely because of the hiatus.

Kris Koop was Carlotta and she's totally Carlotta like. She has the Carlotta attitude and the voice. It's hard to think that she can play Christine Daaé and Carlotta anytime. I kind of missed the previous Piangi and is still not used to seeing the new one. I hate it that Jeff Keller left.. he's been performing in the Phantom musical for ... well forever. I think I read somewhere that he was the first Phantom on Broadway in 1987? Anyway.. I thought George Lee Andrews and Jeff Keller were great together on stage and it's a huge lost losing him.

Think of Me & Angel of Music
Jennifer did a good job there and it's great to see a new Christine. It's always nice to see a new person to play the role, she adds bits here and there of stuff throughout the show that I've never seen other Christines do on stage. (I've only seen Lisa Vroman [my first Christine] and Sandra Joseph and Kris Koop and Julie hanson [I think she's better than Jennifer] as Christine). When I first heard Gary Mauer (I didn't know how to pronounce the last name ... I'm bad at last name. Is it Mao-er?), he freaking reminds me of Hugh Panaro. He's the best.. er second best. Michael Crawford is my top favorite.

Phantom of the Opera & MOTN
It is really true, when Jennifer and Gary went through the mirror in "Angel of Music", and it's not them when they went down to the "lair". It was body doubles and they didn't even look alike lmao. Jennifer and Gary only showed up in the boat scene. I love that scene - the smoke and the candelabras. Sadly, Gary Mauer didn't do the slick, and I get excited when the Phantom does that. Did I mention that MOTN is my favorite song? But only if it's done beautifully. I especially love Gary's "soar".

Perros graveyard
I just want to point out that I noticed Jennifer's vocal rendition of that song was not as powerful as the past Christines that I've seen. But at least her mouth doesn't wobble like Sandra Joseph lmao.

Don Juan Triumphant
I especially liked this scene tonight. I absolutely loved the way Gary acted in the black cloak. It was intense and I like the way he fist his hands. He defintely stood out in the scene out of all the Phantoms I've seen. It's defintely worth seeing him again just for that.

Finale
I noticed that Gary Mauer was not as violent as Howard McGillin or Hugh Panaro. Gary is more like an extremely tortured soul type and he's like a boy threatening to act violently, but doesn't really have the heart to do it.

Overall, Gary Mauer was a phantastic Phantom and that I would be happy to see him or Hugh Panaro replace Howard McGillin. Why do I dislike Howard so? 1) I don't like his hoarse voice and he sings with way too much vibrato. 2) He doesn't greet his fans at the stage door. (He didn't go out the stage door to meet his fans at his last performance like years ago when he left for a new musical and there were a few fans there waiting until 1am or so... yea including me)

Jennifer was great but I would willingly pay more to see someone like Lisa Vroman. I think they cast a much younger Christine because of the Phantom movie?

I'm going to see Les Miserables on my birthday on May 29th and I am looking forward to it =Þ

Happy Halloween!

Since I'm stuck in Stony Brook again in Halloween, I figure I will just watch scary movies and eat candies all night long. The RA in my dorm floor asked everyone on the floor $1 so she can purchase decorations that are really ... well.. paper orange strings thingie, pumpkin face paper plates as "name plates" and black balloons..... lotsa black balloons ... >.<

As Angela Martin would say "It's not my taste".

I prefer cute or scary halloween pumpkin or various halloween pics and cobwebs in the hallway. *meh* *laughs*

Anyway I love watching Halloween movie marathon ... Michael Myers is possibly my favorite villain ever...

It's like I want to see scary movies but I am always afraid of watching those extreme gore, bloody movies like Saw, Hostel, etc..

The Exorcist is possibly the scariest religious movie ever, one time is simply enough. I couldn't sleep for hours and that movie made me think so much about religion and the devil.

I'm going to continue watching scary movies, I'm currently watching Jeepers Creepers. The winged like creature is very creepy sci-fi looking.

Late Night Conan O'Brien is going to replace every human beings with skeletons lol, I couldn't miss that... it should be hilarious.

As soon as I got off from work at 6:30, I hopped in the F train to the Rockefeller center NBC store. At first, the woman didn't want to let me in because the store was about to close. I "begged" her and told her that I only need to buy one thing and one thing only. She finally let me in and I bought myself a Dwight bobble head <3

That bobble head looks freaky and cute the same time >.<

The Office (US)

I started getting into the US version of the Office after ... the Emmy awards in which the show won Best Comedy. I have seen every episode now (re-watch over and over again on my ipod) and hoping to get my hands on the Season 1 and Season 2 dvd bonus features.

This show's main love interest focuses on Jim and Pam but I am primary fascinated of this secretive office romance: Dwight/Angela.

I simply can't believe it. I am now a victim to a job recruiting scam.
Have all of you heard of

It all started when I graduated my high school last year and I recieved a letter from that company about job opening.

I remembered vividly that I was checking out the company's website but didn't find anything that catch my attention.

I remembered thinking of calling to set up an interview but I got an internship job at the MTA later on.

Then yesterday, I was desperately trying to find a good paying summer job.

So I emailed to several job openings that I found on several websites. One of them said something like this,

There was a link www.workforstudents.com and I fill in the application and apply for the job.

(Mind you that not once did they tell you what exactly the job is about and they didn't even ask for you resume).

Then first thing in the morning, I recieved a phone call from my cell phone about this job and I didn't even know that was a job for the Vector Company at first.

The girl told me there is an interview available at 4 o'clock and she gave me the directions to go there. I was so optimistic about this job and I thought the pay was $17.25 per hour.

I went there extra early, at around 3:25 and I entered an extremely small room with no air conditioned but a small fan in the middle. I knocked at the room and saw a girl answering phone calls and a guy eating a hamburger or some sort.

The guy was apprently the manager Chris Sierra and told me to come back in 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, I got back to the place and saw there were already several people sitting on the chairs already (around 8).

I kind of panic because no one told me it was a group interview.

I found out that they were all either high school graduates or college students like me. We filled in paperworks about our name and when can we work.

Then the manager made his apperance and told us that there will be a private interview and a group interview. After we filled out the applications, we waited for the manager

(he is about 20 something and wears a gold watche with numerous trophies and certificates all over his room).

He asked two or three people inside the room and he asked us questions like how did you know about this job opening and what fields of work are you interested in.

Then we were sent outside and a 90 minute presentation took place. During the presentation, the manager talked how great the company Vector is.

It was created in 1959 or some crap and that he kept on asking questions about why the company kept on recruiting students since 1981.

Some reply because the students have great communication skills ... He kept on asking questions to encourage us to answer them. He talked about this wonderful job provides opportunities like $50,000 college scholarships and improve communication skills.

Then he presented the knife. The cutco knife. He demonstrated how it cuts the rope and a patch of leather easily and I was indeed truly amazed. I thought this knife was everything and didn't even realize how much it was when he said a set of knives are $475. He said because there are 70% discount for the workers, we only have to pay $175 something.

He demonstrated how a sale representative should start off with family and then relatives and then friends. Then by word of mouth, there will be much more people wanting to buy knives.

He said the goal is to find families who uses the kitches all the time, 25 years of age or above, and must be employed.

I first thought it was $17.25 per hour but it turned out it was per appointment. Apprently, you have to find clients and go to their homes and sell cutco's knives.

You get $17.25 by one appointment. Afterwards, he wrote down several questions and wanted us to ansewer them on a piece of paper. I remebered at question 6, he wrote down if there are any questions about the job.

I asked: How exactly can you start with families if I don't have many families in NYC. We were asked to go to his room again two by two. I had a feeling that he was not going to hire me, I asked the question I had about selling to families. He said don't worry, you will learn during the training class. He asked me what my assets are and I answered him.

Then apprently out of no where, he extended his hand and smilied and said, "Congradulations, I don't hire everyone here, but I have decided to include you to my team. You can come back tomorrow to start your training." I was pretty content and thought I can really sell knives and be rich by the end of this summer.

That was when I told my mom what was happening and she told me not to go and I stumbled upon some sites about the Vector company scaming h.s. grads and college students. I felt totally stupid. But I didn't know the job ads on the website was the company Vector. If anyone of you is finding summer jobs online, do not fall for jobs that pay 17.25 base/apt.

Even though they don't tell you anythying, even the company name, do not fall for it. What kind of a marketing company requires the worker to buy the product in order to sell/demonstrate to clients?
